Why strip metadata?

Every photo taken on a phone or camera carries hidden EXIF metadata: the exact GPS coordinates where the photo was taken, the camera model, exposure settings, and timestamps. Some platforms strip this on upload — many do not.

This tool re-encodes the image via your browser’s canvas, which drops all ancillary metadata (EXIF, XMP, IPTC, GPS) while preserving pixels.

Magic Retouch exports edits without location metadata by default, and never uses your photos to train models.

  • Pixels are preserved. JPEG output is re-encoded at 92% quality, which is visually identical to the source. PNG output is lossless.
  • No.
  • This tool handles still images only.
